So sooner or later. Saphire Jade was awaken n the middle of the night & thrown n2 a lil yellow snowsuit. Her fav winter get up but 4 sme reason that cold snowy night, it was harder 2 get n2 than usual. Night lights aglow, Sasha & 7 sleepin. Saphire Jade & her mom took off n a yellow cab & headed 2 Jade's dad house.
A 1 b/r basement apartment w/ a fold out sofa bed. That was Saphire Jade's bed. Her dad wld walk her school. Pick her up & walk her home. Taught her how 2 blow bubbles w her gum & spit. Habits her mother hated. He also made Jade sit w/ her spellin words all day sat bc Jade @ that time was good n math but not spelling. She'd been thru a bit so far but she hadn't been hushed just yet. So she wld fall asleep beneath the yellow pad of words. She & her dad loved cartoons & once upon a time n that space, they loved eachother. They watched erything from fraggle rock 2 ren & stimpy. Smurfs, batman & muppet babies & although he loved animal, Saphire cared not 4 the muppets @ all. She was more of the Thomas the train & sesame street, reading rainbow type. Their fav tho above all was Pirates of the Dark Water...the quest 4 the jewels that wld save the world & the phoenix like bird who craved his pomegranates. The handsome prince & lovely princess who I always hoped wld get 2 gether. A key was placed around my neck when they moved a lil after Saphire turned seven. She'd gotten used 2 visiting her sister @ their house & trips 2 NC w her grandmother. Adjusted well, she did & even got a new baby sitter who lived just across the hall. A new school but she still had dad. 4 a lil while. Her parents liked 2 go out & have a good time. A son was born. Justice. & it was a short lived happy time. Jade's parents continued 2 go out & have their good times & wld leave the 7y.o Saphire w the infant child. Tellin her she was so mature 4 her age & if any1 called 2 nform them they were n the shower or sleep. This became the 1st of many family jokes about her mother. Jade grew up real fast. Yeah she what kids do...
